Mostafa hoping for Egypt return

Al-Wehda new midfielder Hassan Mostafa is hoping that first-team football could help him return to the Egypt squad ahead of the 2008 African Cup of Nations.

"I'll do my best with Wehda in order to play in the Nations Cup, I've been promised a call-up by the manager if I played well in the Saudi league," Mostafa told Wehda's official site.

The combative midfielder joined Mecca Warriors on an eight-month loan from Ahli, where he struggled to establish a regular place in the starting line-up.

However, Mostafa revealed his full loyalty to the Reds, stressing that he is ready to return whenever the club is in need for him.

"I will not hesitate to go back to Ahli if the club needs me, I wouldn’t have left if I felt so, Ahli's benefit is a priority for me."

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder is set to make his debut with Wehda when they face Najran in the Saudi League on Thursday.
