"Samuel Eto'o received the green light this morning from doctors and can therefore be available to (coach) Frank Rijkaard for the last four matches of 2007," said a statement on the club’s website.

The 26-year old striker has played a single game for Barcelona this season and has been out after rupturing a tendon in a friendly match with Inter Milan last August.

Eto’o has resumed training 10 days ago and he is set to pass a fitness test on Wednesday before deciding on his ability to feature in next Saturday’s clash against Deportivo La Coruna.

Manager Frank Rijkaard hopes he could have him at his disposal especially that Frenchman Thierry Henry has been ruled out for four weeks with a back injury.
