The first round of 32 will see champions Ahli facing the winner from the preliminary round game between second division duo Asyut Petroleum and Souhag.

Whilst runners-up Zamalek will get the winner from Al-Nassr vs Ismailia Electricity clash in the preliminaries, which will be played on December 30th and 31st.

The round of 32 games were scheduled for January 4th and 5th, while the round of 16 will be played one week later, as both rounds will not feature Egypt players, who will be on international duty in Ghana 2008.
