"The agreement was reached after Azmi successfully passed medical examinations," read a statement on Anorthosis official website.

"He has signed a contract until the end of this season with an option of a renewal for another year."

Azmi has terminated his contract with Saudi Arabia's Al-Shabab by mutual consent after several disputes with the club's board.

He returned to Egypt and was linked with a move to Zamalek but the Cairo giants opted not to sign him due to the availability of many options in the team's backline.
