Former Zamalek vice-chairman Ismail Selim has revealed his plans to enter presidential elections in an attempt to 'save the club from crisis'.

Selim served as vice-chairman with former presidents Mortada Mansour and Kamal Darwish, but this time he refused to be paired in the latter's group.

"I will enter the elections in 2008, but this time I want to be president, that’s why I decided not to join Darwish's group," Selim told FilGoal.com.

"I allied with Ahmed Galal Ibrahim and Hani Al-Attal, and hope I could save the club from crisis."

Selim's latest bout with the Whites witnessed a ferocious state of enmity with Mansour, who also announced his eagerness to regain his position as chairman.

The Zamalek elections will start on August 2008, with current chairman Mamdouh Abbas unlikely to get a further spell.
