"Mido did some training with us last week but he wasn't quite ready," the Boro boss Gareth Southgate told the club's website.

The Reds held Liverpool, 1-1, last Saturday and hope to grab the full points of the match next week end.

"If he can train with us for a full week then there is a possibility he could be involved at the weekend," added Southgate.

Mido has been out with pubic troubles since last October and had to quit the Nations Cup 2008.
