La Repubblica revealed on Thursday that AC Milan president Adriano Galliani met with his counter part in Fiorentina Andrea della Valle and they are considering the deal.

The Milanese bosses are looking for a good keeper to stand between the sticks especially that their number one goalie Dida is underperforming.

Gilardino has also been bellow par and the shining of Ronaldo and Alexandro Pato overshadowed him and he is very close from Milan's exit door.

The former Italy striker is also looking to move out of San Siro to secure regular football.

According to the report the deal could be sealed in the summer and not before the end of January transfer window.
