According to Football Italia, the 18-year old striker, who turned his left ankle, will be sidelined for at least three weeks.

It comes as a big blow for manager Carlo Ancelotti who will have to do without injured Ronaldo, Filippo Inzaghi, Genaro Gattuso and the suspended Alberto Gilardino.

"We are back in an emergency situation. With Gilardino suspended, we hope that Pippo Inzaghi or Ronaldo can recover for next Sunday," Ancelotti said.

The Brazilian youngster has also been denied from his first call-up to the Selecao as manager Dunga decided to replace him by Werder Bremen playmaker Diego.
