Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has kept his feet on ground after rivals' slip-ups were followed by the Gunners 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on Monday.

Wenger's side capitalized on Manchester United's 2-1 home defeat to Manchester City to open a five-point lead, while Chelsea and Liverpool played out a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Frenchman is confident of his young side's ability to win the Premiership, but believes that it is still too early to think that Arsenal have a hand on the title.

"We didn't expect to be where we are after this weekend," said Wenger after the Rovers win.

"But it is important to keep some humility. This league is very tight, on the day you are not at your best, you can lose to anybody.

"It was a very good weekend for us, but we were a bit under pressure to take advantage of the situation after what happened on Sunday.

"We are in a good position, we believe we can do it, we always had the belief from the first day.

"It's far from being over. We'll have to fight until the last minute of the championship. We still have hard games ahead of us."

The Londoners will clash with European champions AC Milan in the opening game of the knock-out stage of the UEFA Champions League next week.
