The Bordeaux frontman last played for Argentina's senior team in December 2004. He wants to grasp the current chance with both arms.

"Four years ago I did not show my true ability and for that reason I want to take advantage of every moment, to enjoy being back amongst the selection," he said.

"I must try to enjoy it more than put unnecessary pressure on myself," Cavenaghi told Argentinean paper Ole.

Argentina coach Alfio Basile opted to rest Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez and Inter's Hernan Crespo in order to give chance to new players to shine.

Six-time African champions Egypt host the world's top-ranked team in a friendly game on March 26th.

Cavenaghi can't wait to step onto the pitch against the Pharaohs but remains focused on Bordeaux's local commitments.

"There is a slight anxiety, but before that I have three games with Bordeaux: on Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday, so I will be concentrated on those."

"After that, there will be plenty of time to think about the selection," he concluded.

The 24-year-old striker scored nine goals in Ligue1 so far this season.
