Ittihad manager Taha Basri admitted that his team's victory over Petrojet is a big step towards staying in the Premier League but insisted they aren't safe yet.

"It was a very important victory but it doesn't mean we are safe," Basri said after the game.

"We must stay focused to win more points to stay in the top flight."

The Alexandria-based side stunned third-placed Petrojet 1-0, courtesy of a Mahmoud Samna goal.

"We have a lot of tough games starting from Ismaili next week and we must keep our feet on the ground," added the former ENPPI boss.

Ittihad are in 12th place with 20 points.

They are two points clear of bottom side Baladeya.
