German giants Bayern Munich produced two remarkable comebacks to claim a 3-3 away draw with 10-man Getafe and advance to the UEFA Cup semi-final.

Bayern will face Zenit St. Petersburg in the semi-final after the Russian side overcame Bayer Leverkusen.

Spanish side Getafe were dealt an early blow when defender Ruben de la Red was sent off after just six minutes.

However, they managed to go ahead one minute before the break when Romanian full-back Cosmin Contra burst into the area before smashing home past Oliver Kahn.

By that time Getafe had the upper hand after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw at Allianz Arena.

They seemed to be on course for a memorable win, only to be denied by French winger Franck Ribery two minutes from time.

He notched the equalizer after taking advantage of a poor clearance by a defender to send a half-volley into the bottom corner of the net, forcing the game into extra time.

Midfielder Francisco Casquero restored Getafe's lead one minute into the first-half of extra time through a fierce drive that went in off the post.

Substitute Barulio took advantage of some sloppy defending from Brazilian defender Lucio to add a third.

Italian prolific striker Luca Toni narrowed the gap five minutes from time after a howler by Getafe keeper Roberto Abbondanzieri.

He broke the hearts of Michael Laudrup's men when his towering header in stoppage time leveled the aggregate score, but Bayern progressed on the away-goal rule.
