Egyptian defender Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa stressed that staying in the Turkish top flight is more important than winning the Cup title for Genclerbirligii.

“It’s like a dream come true to play the Cup final as Genclerbirligii Captain," Al-Saqqa told FilGoal.com.

"We had a brilliant run including our victory against Galatasaray in the semis. Now there is just one step to go and we will be champions."

Genclerbirligii beat Galatasaray 2-1 on aggregate and Al-Saqqa scored his side’s away goal.

“Personally it will be a great achievement especially that we will play in the UEFA Cup. But our main objective is to stay in the top flight,” added the Egyptian defender.

Al-Saqqa’s side is 15th of the table with 31 points with only four matches left to play.

They have a crucial tie next week against Trabzonspor, where Egyptian duo Ayman Abdul-Aziz and Sayed Moawad play.

The 35-year old defender is on the brink of a personal achievement as he’ll become the first Egyptian to Captain a winning side.
