Hossam Ghaly has confirmed that he is keen on playing for the national team and helping Egypt reach the 2010 World Cup finals.

"I want to play for my country again and I hope to help them reach the World Cup finals in South Africa” Ghaly told the CAF official sponsor website.

The 26-year-old midfielder has risked his international career by leaving the Pharaohs just before the Nations Cup to complete a move to Derby County.

He made a huge impact with his new side but they couldn't avoid relegation.

Ghaly, playing for Derby on loan from Tottenham, hasn't confirmed where he will be playing next season.

It is unlikely that the former Ahli man will return to White Hart Lane as he reached a dead end with the club.
