Hossam Abdul-Moneim netted the winner from the spot to grab the full points of the game and lift Ittihad to the 10th place with 29 points.

Earlier in the day Petrojet stretched their winless streak to seven games after being held by Ghazl Mahalla to a 2-2 draw.

The hosts came from behind twice as Mohamed Ramadan and Mohamed Koffi cancelled out goals from Ahmed Al-Molla and Danielo Daniel.

Petrojet are fifth of the table with 39 points while Ghazl Al-Mahalla are eighth with 34.

Harras Al-Hodoud put Telecom Egypt in the relegation zone with a 2-0 away win, courtesy to goals from Abdul-Hamid Bassiouni and Ahmed Hassan.
