"I must announce that I will not be capable of playing at Euro 2008," Rosicky told Czech News Agency (CTK).

"My injury requires surgery which I will undergo at the start of next week."

Rosicky has been struggling with the injury for several months. He hasn't played for Arsenal since January.

Czech coach Karel Bruckner will have no choice but to try to persuade Juventus midfielder Pavel Nedved to come out of international retirement.

Bruckner's men will play in Group A along with Switzerland, Portugal and Turkey.
