Fergie eyeing double

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson turns his attention to the Champions League final next week, following his side's Premiership triumph on Sunday.

United won 2-0 at Wigan to wrap up a 17th Premiership title as they anticipate a crunch final with league rivals Chelsea in Moscow.

Buoyant with his 10th domestic title with United, Ferguson is eager to complete the double with what could be his 'best ever' team.

"We are bouncing into that final now, If we'd lost the title it would have been different," said Ferguson after the 2-0 win at Wigan.

"If this team goes on now and wins the European Cup, it will be my best ever.

"We have a really solid base here, starting with the likes of Edwin (van der Sar) and Rio (Ferdinand) at the back, plus players who can damage teams and score goals.

Next week we'll be ready for Moscow. We need to make the most of the occasion as they don't come around very often and hopefully we'll win the Champions League."

Giggs Feat

Ryan Giggs scored the second goal at JJB as Ferguson sung praises for the 34-year-old's achievement of 10 titles with United.

"I was pleased with that second goal. It makes it 10 (title medals) today for Ryan Giggs which is fantastic," added the United supremo.

The Welshman has even earned praise from Wigan coach Steve Bruce, who was a former United defender.

"I was fortunate to play on his debut, when he scored," Bruce said. "He has equaled the record and he is just a great, great player. He epitomizes what Manchester United are about."
