Hamburg's new coach Martin Jol said on Wednesday that he does not contemplate a squad overhaul.

The Dutch tactician, who was sacked as Tottenham Hotspur coach in October 2007, took over at Mohamed Zidan's side after Huub Stevens left for PSV Eindhoven.

When asked about his potential plans for new recruitments, Jol revealed that few additions could prove valuable.

"One or two players can make the difference. This fact was embodied by Bayern Munich," Jol told Hamburg's official website.

Hamburg qualified for the UEFA Cup after finishing fourth in the Bundesliga, but Jol has higher ambitions for next season.

"If we add a player or two, we can do even better than this year," the 52-year-old coach added.

Egyptian forward Zidan could have a chance to prove himself after moving down the pecking order under former manager Stevens.
