Alves has made it no secret that he wants to move to Barcelona and appeared with their red-blue shirt.

"As I have said more than once it would be an honor and a pleasure to be able to play for Barça. I am just waiting for concrete news and hope that things can move as quickly as possible,” he told Catalan daily Sport.

The 26-year old winger has been linked with a move away from Sevilla last summer.

Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona were reportedly interested in signing him but Sevilla turned down all the offers.

"It is difficult to put a price on my work. It is the president who must do that. Where I go is what I decide. I will say where I go. My future is down to me and nobody else. But the price is down to him," he continued.

Barcelona are willing to strengthen their backline who has been very shaky this season. Rumors also indicate that Gianluca Zambrotta is set to return to Italy.
