Tunisian striker Amine Chermiti, close on a move to Hertha Berlin, said he is ecstatic over switching to the Bundesliga.

"I am very pleased to sign with Hertha," the Etoile Sahel player was quoted as saying by Bild on Wednesday.

"Hertha have great fans and Berlin is a beautiful city.

"I will try to do my best in the start of my European career."

The German sports magazine said that the deal is likely to be sealed in a week.

Chermiti, 20, put on impressive displays in the African Champions League, helping Etoile snatch the title in 2007.

He was also a member of the Tunisian national team in the 2008 African Cup of Nations.
