The Egypt and Ahli playmaker flew to Germany on Thursday morning to undergo medical tests.

He has been dropped from Egypt's squad preparing for the World Cup qualifiers' opener against DR Congo on Sunday.

"After the knee surgery, I was rushed into games before full recovery," Abou-Treika told FilGoal.com. "I won't repeat this."

"I will stay in Germany till I get the green light for playing competitive games."

Abou-Treika is set to link up with his Ahli teammates in their pre-season camp in Germany, set to start in June.
