Der Kaiser is aware that Klinsmann has his own thoughts, and the former Germany legend vows to back the coach as long as the team flourish.

"We've certainly taken a risk with Jurgen. You know he's someone that wants to push through his ideas,'' Beckenbauer was quoted as saying in Berlin's Der Tagesspiegel newspaper.

"So you have to ask yourself: Are you going along? If you want to do that, then you have to put the things at his disposal and set it up the way he wants.''

Klinsmann took over from Ottmar Hitzfeld at the end of last season, which saw the General leading Bayern to the German double.

The former Bayern striker is set for his first ever club challenge, following his spell with the German national team coach between 2004 and 2006.
