Bruckner, 68, already has problems with his back, but Czech team spokesman Lukas Tucek played down serious illness fears.

"It was a temporary moment, I don't think it is anything serious," he said.

Bruckner's illness comes only two days before his side's EURO 2008 opening game with hosts Switzerland in Group A, which also includes Portugal and Turkey.

The veteran coach is set to step down when the Czech team's EURO campaign ends, after seven years in charge.
