France midfielder Samir Nasri has agreed to join English side Arsenal, BBC reported on Thursday.

The Marseille man is set to pen a four-year deal with the Gunners. He will link-up with his new teammates following EURO 2008.

Nasri, who made two appearances in France's disappointing EURO campaign, will become Arsene Wenger's first signing in the close season.

The 20-year-old, tipped as a future successor to Zinedine Zidane, came through Marseille's youth ranks.

He was voted the French Ligue1 young player of the year last season after putting in some fine displays.

Nasri scored six goals in 30 appearances for Marseille last season to help them book a place in the UEFA Champions League.
