Juventus have been linked to the Portuguese international and local media insisted last week that the deal was almost done.

However, while admitting there was interest from his side, Juventus chief Giovanni Cobolli Gigli insisted that things were not going to develop.

“We have looked at Miguel, but I can tell you that he doesn’t interest us any longer,” he was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia magazine on Wednesday.

Juve, who finished third in the Serie A last season, are still looking to enforce their defensive midfield position, with Liverpool player Xabi Alonso as their prime target.
