The report claimed that Chelsea's new boss promised 'to help' Lampard move if the England midfielder wishes so.

Lampard has been linked with the Nerazzurri since Jose Mourinho took over at San Siro, but Chelsea were reluctant to allow the move.

Meanwhile, Inter president Massimo Moratti reaffirmed the club's interest in the 30-year-old, but conceded that no more bids will be issued for his services.

"We have made our offer to Chelsea and now it depends on the player," said Moratti.

"He is a player we like, but we cannot do any more than that."
