"The club can confirm that Gareth Barry will be back in training tomorrow (Wednesday)," the Premiership side said in a statement on their website.

Barry was banned by Villa for publicly saying that O'Neill was not doing enough to grant him his wish of joining Liverpool.

Liverpool have seen a succession of bids for Barry turned down by Villa board.

The Reds are yet to meet Villa's valuation of the player, which is estimated at around £17m plus Liverpool's full-back Steve Finnan.
