Schweinsteiger put in some impressive displays for Germany at EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.

The 23-year-old was linked with a move away from Allianz Arena, but he affirmed his desire to extend his contract with the Bavarian giants.

"I'll be talking to Bayern before I talk to anyone else because Bayern Munich is my home," Schweinsteiger told the club’s official website.

Schweinsteiger, who came through Bayern’s youth ranks, is looking forward to the new season following Germany's defeat against Spain in EURO final.

"I don't really want to talk about the Euro any more. The past counts for nothing in football," he said.
