Robinho was linked with a move to the Blues since the close of last season, and the London club were admittedly interested in signing him.

Despite the fact the Chelsea midfield is packed with a handful of stars, Deco believes there is room for Robinho to join in.

Robinho is a spectacular player. He's got incredible skill. He has magic and is capable of anything on a football pitch. His quality is amazing," said the Portugal midfielder.

"It would be great if he joined us and he'd be made very welcome here."

Robinho was forced to pull out of Brazil's squad for this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing due to a groin problem.
