Beijing 2008: Handball team hold Denmark

Egypt's Handball team were within a whisker of stunning European giants Denmark, but settled for a 23-23 draw in the preliminaries Group B match.

The Danish team were in front for long spells of the game, but Egypt made a remarkable comeback near the end.

However, Denmark scored in the last 15 seconds to get a draw, as Hussein Zaki was superbly denied by the Danish keeper in the last play of the game.

Egypt will face another tricky test against Russia on Tuesday.

Volleyball Team Lose

The Volleyball team were handed an expected defeat by Brazil in the preliminaries Pool B game.

The Athens 2004 gold medalists outclassed the Pharaohs 3-0, in a game that was totally dominated by the South Americans.

The Rowing team also recorded a disappointing result in the Lightweight men's four heat 1. Egypt's quartet finished fifth after China, Great Britain, Australia and Holland.
