Reiner Hollman blamed Zamalek players for missing too many easy chances of scoring against Ittihad in Tuesday's 1-1 league draw.
The Whites were denied their second win this season, thanks to a second half strike from former winger Farag Shalabi.
However, Hollman believes that an easy win was spurned against the Alexandrian side, who were handed a 5-2 home thrashing by Masri last week.
"We should have easily won, but the players missed many chances to secure the win," the German told Zamalek's official site.
"We could have won by four goals at least, while Ittihad scored their goal from a single chance they had. But games are won by scoring not by missed chances."
Osama Hassan could have won the game for Hollman's team, but the full-back's late penalty was denied by the post.
