The Petroleum club secured their second successive league win in a superb fashion, outplaying last season’s surprise package Al-Gaish in every aspect of the game.

“I didn’t expect Petrojet to win by that big margin because Al-Gaish are a very good team,” Mokhtar told FilGoal.com on Friday.

“But my players were in an exceptional condition in terms of fitness and tactics. That’s why they managed to claim such an impressive win.

“The players also took advantage of Al-Gaish defensive mistakes as well as capitalizing on the opponents’ mis-placed passes to make neat counter attacks.”

However, former Ahli great Mokhtar insisted his players mustn’t rest on their laurels despite their convincing start to the league campaign.

“They have to be aware that they still make errors and need to improve,” he added.
