Samir Nasri has been ruled out of France's friendly game with Sweden on Wednesday due to a thigh injury.

The Arsenal winger, who replaced Hatem Ben Arfa in Les Bleus squad, will not be replaced by manager Raymond Domenech.

The promising midfielder marked his Premiership debut with the only goal in the Gunners' 1-0 win over West Brom last weekend.

Meanwhile, Thierry Henry will captain France in the Sweden game, amid the absence of injury-prone skipper Patrick Vieira.

"I still want to give something. It’s my duty. There’s a new generation but there always has to be someone to show the way," said the Barcelona forward.

“I’ve got quite a lot of top level experience, I know the new generation that’s coming through quite well, I’ve always felt quite young."

It was rumored that Henry would quit France after the EURO 2008, but the nation's all-time leading goalscorer is set to carry on with his international career.
