Arab Contractors' new striker Reda Al-Weeshi played down the personal importance of facing former club Ahli in the Egyptian League on Saturday.

The combative frontman joined Ahli from second division side Railways in the summer of 2007 but he failed to make a notable impact with the Cairo giants.

Al-Weeshi was subsequently sold to Contractors in the close season as he was deemed surplus to requirements at Ahli.

The 23-year-old scored twice on his Contractors debut to help his club defeat Al-Gaish 2-0 in their league opener.

Al-Weeshi is set to face Ahli on Saturday but he is giving himself peace of mind.

"I will not let the idea of proving my worth against Ahli affects me. If I think that way, I will not perform well," he told FilGoal.com on Friday.

"Defeating Ahli is much more important than achieving personal aims."
