BBC Sport reported that the Egyptian international and Justin Hoyte, who arrived form Arsenal last week, are expected to start.

Mido started on the bench in the first two Premiership games against Tottenham and Liverpool as coach Gareth Southgate counted on Tuncay Sanli and Afonso Alves in the front line.

However, Mido came off the bench to score in both games, with Boro beating Tottenham 2-1 and losing to Liverpool by the same score line.

Mido said he would sit with Southgate to know his chances of breaking into the starting 11 to weigh his options before the summer transfer window is over on Monday.

However, Southgate has recently implied that Mido is an important player and that he is going nowhere.
