The 26-year-old penned a four-year deal with Mark Hughes' side for an undisclosed fee.

"Obviously I'm delighted to come back to City and I just can't wait to start again," Wright-Philips told City's official website on Thursday.

Wright-Philips struggled to live up to expectations since joining Chelsea in July 2005.

He made just 43 Premiership starts and scored four goals for Chelsea but he failed to hold down a regular place.
