Shehata rings the changes ahead of DR Congo clash

Ahli captain Shadi Mohamed and Zamalek keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef were dropped from Egypt's squad for the World Cup qualifier against DR Congo on September 7th.

Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has also omitted ENPPI striker Ahmed Raouf and Ahli's Sayed Moawad and Hossam Ashour.

The five players were included in the team that lost 4-1 to Sudan in a friendly in August.

Shehata introduced six new players with Ismaili's Mohamed Sobhi and Mohamed 'Hommos' Soliman making their international comeback alongside Ahli defender Ahmed Al-Sayed and Ghazl Mahalla's Mohsen Hendawi.

Ittihad's young keeper Al-Hani Soliman and Masri left-winger Ahmed Shedid will also get the chance to deputize for Egypt in Kinshasa.

Egypt's Full squad to face DR Congo:

Goalkeepers: Essam Al-Hadari (FC Sion – Switzerland), Amir Abdul-Hamid (Ahli), Al-Hani Soliman (Ittihad).

Defenders: Hani Saied, Mahmoud Fathallah (Zamalek), Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Al-Sayed (Ahli), Mohsen Hendawi (Ghazl Mahalla), Ahmed Samir Farag (Ismaili), Ahmed Shedid (Masri), Ahmed Al-Muhammadi (ENPPI).

Midfielders: Ahmed Hassan, Mohamed Abu-Treika (Ahli), Hosni Abd-Rabou (Ahli Dubai), Ahmed Shaaban (Petrojet), Ahmed Eid (Harras Al-Hodoud), Mohamed 'Hommos' Soliman (Ismaili).

Strikers: Amr Zaki (Wigan Athletic), Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' (Middlesbrough), Emad Meteb (Ittihad Jeddah), Mohamed Fadl (Ismaili).
