Petroject coach Mokhtar Mokhtar announced an EGP 10,000 fine on any team player taking part in a Ramadan tournament, the club's football director Mostapha Hendawi said on Wednesday.

Despite the 'Professional' nature of the Egyptian League, many club players have the habit of participating in friendly Ramadan tournaments alongside friends and fellow footballers.

However, injuries picked up by some of the players during similar events have forced coaches to prevent any of them from playing in any Ramadan competition.

Meanwhile, Hendawi added that the club's coaching staff will be hoping to have all their Ramadan fixtures played at night rather than suffering from fasting circumstances during important games.

Petrojet who are currently lying second in the League are resuming preparations for the upcoming encounter at home to Arab Contractors on September 13th.
