Samuel Kuffour

Ghanaian defender Samuel Kuffour has decided to retire from soccer at the age of 32.

The former Bayern Munich and AS Roma defender had offers from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates but he preferred to bring down curtains on his career after 15 years in Europe.

The versatile defender won 17 titles with Bayern Munich including the Champions League in 2001 and seven Bundesliga titles.

Kuffour spent the past season on loan at Ajax but didn’t make the expected impact.

In 1994 he became the youngest player to score in the Champions League when he found the net against against Spartak Moscow at the age of 18 years and 61 days.
