According to Ekrami's father, Ankaragucu coach Hakan Kutlu failed to convince the 25-year-old goalkeeper to cut fasting the month of Ramadan ahead of the team's league game with Gazientepspor.

"The manager ordered Sherif not to fast if he wants to play on Sunday, but Sherif insisted to fast," Ekrami the father told FilGoal.com.

Apart from the fasting problem, Ekrami revealed that his son is yet to receive his signing on fees from the Turkish Super Lig side.

"Ankaragucu are yet to fulfill their financial commitment towards Sherif."

Ankaragucu's financial problems forced Ismaili defender Ibrahim Saied to leave the club last season, following months of unrest.
