The Egyptian forward was tackled by Italian defender Domizzi, who hit him in the ribcage with his knee and was forced out of the game after only five minutes.

Zidan has been immediately taken to hospital and a more detailed diagnosis should be announced very soon.

Mat Hummels also twisted his ankle in the 22nd minute and had to leave the pitch. He is set to spend a few weeks on the sidelines too.
