Egyptian defender Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa was sent-off as Genclerbirligi slumped to a 3-0 away defeat to Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday.

Fenerbahce skipper Alex put the hosts in front four minutes before the break.

Gencler hopes of claiming the equalizer were dealt a major blow when Al-Saqqa, who fell out of favor with Egypt coach Hassan Shehata, collected a second booking in the 54th minute.

Fenerbahce, who suffered a 3-0 defeat to Porto in their Champions League group stage opener, capitalized on their numerical advantage to score two goals in the second half.

Spain striker Daniel Guiza extended the advantage four minutes past the hour mark and Kazim Kazim put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time.

The defeat left Gencler in 12th place with four points while Fenerbahce climbed to fourth spot on six points.
