The 25-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during the warm up for Middlesbrough's clash with Sunderland on Sunday, forcing coach Gareth Southgate to start the game with Afonso Alves instead.

"Mido won't be taking part against United after the x-ray confirmed his hamstring injury," The player's brother Tamer Wasfi told FilGoal.com on Monday.

"He (Mido) is currently undergoing a two-day rehab in order to feature against West Bromwich Albion on September 27th."

Mido's injury comes as a blow to Southgate as other Middlesbrough striker Tuncay Sanli is already out injured.
