Abdul-Monsef suffered a strong fever upon arriving in South Africa en route to Harare, and the medical staff's initial diagnosis was malaria.

"Thankfully, all medical tests confirmed that I'm not infected with malaria," the keeper told FilGoal.com on Thursday.

"The fever was a result of a bad cold I caught due to change of weather between Egypt and South Africa. Now I'm ready to feature for the team's upcoming games."

While Mohamed Abdul-Wahed played against Dynamos, young keeper Emad El-Sayed was given the nod to fill in for Monsef on the Zamalek bench.
