France held in Romania

France salvaged a 2-2 draw from Romania in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, thanks to an extraordinary strike from midfielder Yoann Gourcuff.

Goals from Florentin Petre and Dorin Goian gave the Romanians a two-goal cushion, but Frank Ribery pulled one back for Les Bleus before half-time.

In the 69th minute, Ribery set up Gourcuff who unleashed a thunderous 30-yard rifle into the roof of Bogdan Lobont's net.

France are fourth in Group 7 with four points, two behind leaders Serbia, who ended Lithuania's winning streak with a 3-0 home victory.

Euro Kings Ease to Win

EURO 2008 champions Spain cruised to a 3-0 victory over Estonia in Group 5 to maintain their perfect record with nine points from three games.

In the same group, Turkey edged past Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-1 and Belgium beat Andorra 2-0.

In Group 9, Holland recorded their second successive win, beating Iceland 2-0, with goals from Joris Mathijsen and Klaas- Jan Huntelaar.

Elsewhere, Italy were held to a goalless draw in Bulgaria as Sweden and Portugal played out the same score line.
