ENPPI made amends for their crushing defeat to Zamalek after claiming a 1-0 victory over Masri in the Egyptian League on Saturday.

Nigerian striker Minusu Buba, who joined ENPPI from Arab Contractors in the close season, scored the winner in the 34th minute.

He latched onto Abdullah Ragab's deft pass inside the area before drilling a superb shot with the outside of his right foot to leave the keeper with no chance.

ENPPI managed to break the deadlock despite playing with ten men for about 55 minutes due to the dismissal of Ayman Saied in the first-half.

The tough-tackling Saied was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident.

The numbers were evened up ten minutes from time when Masri's Ghanaian midfielder Akwetey Mensah was sent off for a second bookable offense.

ENPPI, who slumped a 4-1 defeat to Zamalek on Tuesday, climbed into second spot in the league table with 17 points, just one adrift of leaders Petrojet.

Masri, who have suffered a dip in form since beating defending champions Ahli in August, are 12th on eight points.

The pressure is increasing on coach Hossam Hassan, who was earlier tipped for big things in his first managerial experience.

Under his guidance, Masri made their best league start in a decade but their dip in form saw them failing to claim a league win since their surprising victory over Ahli.
