An Andrew Johnson brace either side of the interval gave Fulham an easy win over an out-of-sorts Wigan side.

The former Everton man opened the scoring after 11 minutes when he converted Paul Konchesky's cross from close range.

Johnson added the second on 59 minutes when he caught Paul Scharner napping to collect Jimmy Bullard's pass from a free kick and slot home.

The defeat leaves Wigan third from bottom on eight points while Fulham lie 14th with 11 points.

Egypt striker Zaki, who partnered Emile Heskey upfront, exerted lots of efforts but barely threatened Fulham keeper.

Zaki's teammates didn't provide him with much support, leaving him with no choice but to switch to the flanks.

The 25-year-old's first chance came three minutes before the break when he collected Heskey's pass inside the area, but his low shot was easily gathered by the keeper.

One minute later, Austrian defender Scharner wasted a glorious opportunity to level the score after failing to make the most of Zaki's pinpoint cross.

The combative frontman darted down the left before whipping in a cross to the unmarked Scharner, whose far-post header went over the bar.

Zaki tried his luck from distance shortly after the restart but his shot missed the target.

He remains the Premiership top scorer with seven goals, one ahead of Jermain Defoe, Robinho and Gabriel Agbonlahor.
