Mohamed Zidan's Borussia Dortmund slumped to a 2-1 away defeat to Hamburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Croatian striker Mladen Petric, who joined Hamburg from Dortmund in a deal that saw Zidan moving in the opposite direction, scored against his former club to open the scoring after nine minutes.

His compatriot Ivica Olic doubled Hamburg's advantage shortly after the half-hour mark.

Substitute Diego Klimowicz pulled one back three minutes after the break but Hamburg held onto their lead to bounce back from their last league defeat to Hannover.

Egyptian forward Zidan, who scored Dortmund's equalizer in last week's 1-1 draw with Bochum, started the game but did not make a notable impact.

He was substituted in the 70th minute, making way for Delron Buckley. Zidan scored two goals in the Bundesliga so far.

Hamburg moved into third spot in the league table with 23 points while Dortmund lie eighth on 18 points.
