Tottenham Hotspur and Blackburn Rovers are set to vie for the signature of DR Congo ace Tresor Mputu, according to Skysports.com.

Mputu, who currently plays for TP Mazembe, has been poised to move to Europe since last season, where he finished top scorer in the CAF Champions League.

"We are currently sorting out a visa for Tresor to come over to England and he should be here by Thursday," Mputu's agent Severin Bohuis told Skysports.com.

"He is due to go and train with Blackburn once he receives his visa, but there are loads of clubs interested in him as he is one the best players in Africa.

"Tottenham are interested in him and we will see what happens at Blackburn."

In addition to Spurs and Rovers, Mputu has been linked with Arsenal, Anderlecht, Olympiakos and Hull City throughout 2008.

However, a deal was never sealed by the 22-year-old forward, who was also in talks with Egyptian champions Ahli in the summer.
