Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o said he'd be glad to play alongside France striker Karim Benzema, if the latter makes the switch to the Spanish Liga from Lyon.

"Barcelona are the greatest club in the world. And the greatest club in the world need the greatest players in the world. Benzema is among those," Eto'o told L'Equipe.

Benzema has been heavily linked with a move to the Blaugrana, and the player himself announced that he'd be honored to play for either Barca or Real Madrid in Spain.

Marseille wish

When asked about the possibility of playing for French giants Marseille, Eto'o confirmed that he'd love to play for the Mediterranean side before the end of his career.

"Yes, why not? I dream of playing at Marseille one day," Eto'o told L'Equipe when asked about the possibility of a switch to Ligue1.

"For me, France is like Cameroon. So at the end of my career, when my body tells me to stop, I might play one last season in France."

The Cameroonian ace is enjoying life at Nou Camp at the moment though, after hitting 13 goals in 11 Primera Liga games for the leaders.

The 29-year-old spoke of the team spirit at Barca, as he ruled out speculation that coach Josep Guardiola makes surprise mid-night phone calls to make sure his players are home.

"There are no midnight phone calls. We have children and we are adults. But fines are important. In a team like Barcelona, it is small things that keep the group together," he said.

"When you don't eat with your teammates at lunchtime after training, it's normal to remind people that this is not right."
